If purchasing this ice bath with one of the six different chillers we also sell, use a standard 120-volt, 20-ampere household outlet to power it. For optimal performance and safety, we recommend connecting your chiller to a dedicated outlet. This means the outlet should not be shared with other appliances to eliminate the undue risk of electrical interruptions.

The plug-and-play setup makes installation very straightforward—simply plug your chiller into a regular household outlet, and it's ready to go! It doesn’t get any easier than this.

If purchasing a chiller with the Barrel Cold Plunge Ice Bath, the temperature can be set between 37 °F and 80 °F (3 °C and 27 °C).

The chillers will change temperature at a rate of 2-9 °F per hour depending on the model, and then it will maintain that temperature 24/7, as long as you keep the unit plugged in and turned on.

All Dynamic Cold Therapy models come fully assembled.

Simply remove the ice bath from the packaging materials, position the tub where you'd like it to go, and fill it up with water!

Please note that this unit has six compatible chillers which simply plug into a 120 V 20 AMP outlet. Alternatively, ice can also be used to cool the water in the tub.

Dynamic Cold Therapy baths are built for outdoor use, but the additional chiller units should only be used indoors, in covered outdoors, or outdoors on clear days* without rain or snow.

*The chillers are water resistant, but not water proof, and can malfunction if subjected to too much direct sunlight which can cause the Ambient Temperature Sensor to malfunction.

If using the Barrel model outdoors in an environment with any moisture, we recommend staining the wood for added protection and longevity.

Every Dynamic Cold Therapy ice bath weighs 40-129 lbs. (depending if you purchase a chiller or not), and can hold up to 100 gallons.

With water weighing 8 lbs/gallon, a filled Dynamic Cold Therapy tub can weigh up to a half a ton with a person sitting in it.

All Dynamic Cold Therapy cold immersion tubs are designed to be as low maintenance as possible.

The maintenance requirements are to:

1. Drain/refill the water
2. Replace the filter
3. Dry any exposed wet wood after use (barrel & cuboid models)
4. Treat exposed wood with teak/tung oil periodically (barrel & cuboid models)

For once-a-day use, we recommend changing the water monthly; for commercial use, water changes may be needed daily or weekly.

When it comes to changing the filter, this is required every 250-300 uses.

Rinsing before use will mean the water stays cleaner and less frequent water and filter changes will be required.

Treating the wood (barrel & cuboid models) should be done every 1-6 months depending how much water is splashing onto the outside.

To change the water:

1. Turn off the chiller.
2. Unscrew the drain valve.
3. Wait 15 minutes for the water to fully drain. Attach a transfer pump to speed this process up.
4. Re-tighten the drain valve.
5. Fill the tub back up with water.

To change the filter:

1. Turn off the chiller.
2. Plug the chiller inlet and outlet hoses using the provided plugs.
3. Loosen and remove the filter cap using the provided filter wrench.
4. Expect some residual water to spill out of the hoses/chiller.
5. Discard the older filter and place a fresh filter in the filter cup.
6. Repeat steps 1-3 in reverse order to secure the filter back in place.

All Dynamic Cold Therapy chillers come with an Ozone sanitation feature. When turned on, this mode activates roughly every 15 minutes, killing bacteria in the water to keep it clean.

Depending how often your tub is being used, we recommend changing the water when it becomes cloudy or discolored, which can occur within a week or 1-2 months depending on how much use the tub is receiving.

Changing the filters also depends on tub use. If the water and/or filter becomes cloudy/discolored, we suggest changing the filter at this time. Filters will sometimes become discolored before the water does, meaning they may need to be changed weekly or monthly.

If you notice the flow rate of your chiller below 16L/min, or if the chiller is noisier than usual, then this may also be an indicator that the filter is due for a replacement.
